What the trip is like

The descent to the canyon floor is short but steep, and that is where the forest closes in for good. On day one we go down, cross the stream twice and climb the far side. On day two, the whole rim, mostly with open views. Camp set up by the crew, dinner over the fire. Bring high boots: the ground is loose rock.
